JobScheduler can be integrated into a Tivoli® Workload Scheduler (TWS) environment, with a TWS Agent being used to communicate with JobScheduler via a web service and the TWS "Conman" client.
The diagram below shows one possible landscape in which TWS is used to control SAP systems. This solution was implemented as part of a migration from Control-M to JobScheduler.
- The TWS agent uses a web service to start orders/jobs in JobScheduler as well as other applications.
- JobScheduler starts TWS jobstreams identified by the workstation and jobstream name by calling the TWS "conman" command line tool.
- JobScheduler uses shell scripts to start processes in the applications it controls directly.
