Introduction

Central configuration allows the efficient distribution of configuration files from a central source to distributed JobScheduler instances.

The single point of configuration ensures accurate and punctual delivery of the configuration information to all instances.

With central configuration central configuration files are monitored by a Supervisor JobScheduler which then distributes them to the JobScheduler instances.

The Supervisor JobScheduler synchronises after a change in the configuration files and does not otherwise intervene in the running of the JobScheduler instances. It can distribute configuration files to individual JobScheduler instances or to all instances.

Central configuration is often used for Active Cluster architectures as described in the Architecture Decision Template shown in our Architecture page.
