Why should a user use environment variables?

Where are they located?

The environment variables are used to define the values for certain parameters. The agent uses environment variables that can be set and used while the agent is started.

The JS7 startup script includes the environment variables. Which when set in the startup script uses the respective values on the agent start. 

• The default location of the agent_<port>.cmd|sh file is:

  • /opt/sos-berlin.com/js7/agent/bin on Linux systems and

  • C:\Program Files\sos-berlin.com\js7\agent/bin on Windows.
