Any number of JobScheduler Masters can be installed in a scheduling environment.
However, the following points should be taken into account when completing the Network Configuration form of the JobScheduler basic package setup:
- The JobScheduler ID should be unique among all the JobSchedulers, unless you want to install a cluster.
- The JobScheduler ID is used to create a subfolder in each of the installation paths that are required for the JobScheduler. See the JobScheduler Master Installation - 2 - Dialog Installation article for more information.
- On Microsoft® Windows® the JobScheduler ID is used after the setup is completed to set the name of the JobScheduler service in the
sos_scheduler_[scheduler_id]
form.
- The TCP and HTTP / HTTPS ports must also be unique among all the JobSchedulers installed on one computer.
It is recommended that all the JobSchedulers installed on a computer or in a network use the same JobScheduler and, if required, Reporting Databases. This must be the case a Backup Cluster or Load Balancing is to be used.
