Introduction
The JS7 - Tagging offers to manage tags for orders. This is different from JS7 - Tagging - Workflows. An order can be assigned any number of tags.
Tags can be used to filter display of workflows and orders.
- Folders are the basic means to store workflows and related objects in hierarchies.
- Tags offer filtering independently from folder hierarchies. They allow highlighting what is relevant and can carry information important to operations teams such as the business process assigned the order.

Managing Order Tags
Orders can be added tags for the following purposes:
- to allow filtering of orders in any JOC Cockpit views.
- to display metadata assigned to orders.
Adding Tags to Scheduled Orders
Order Tags are managed from the inventory with the Configuration view. JS7 - Schedules allow to add any number of tags:
Adding Tags to Ad Hoc Orders
Ad hoc orders are added to workflows on-the-fly from the Workflows view. This allows to add tags:
Displaying Order Tags
Tags can be used for filtering and they can be used to display metadata of orders, for example
- to make visible categories,
- to focus on the relevance of orders,
- to make metadata available such as a department, application etc. that the order is running for.
Order tags are displayed in any JOC Cockpit views such as in the Workflows view like this:
As a prerequisite users have to enable display of order tags from the JS7 - Settings page:
Explanations:
- The setting offers to specify the number of Order Tags displayed in any views.
- The default value is 0 which suggests that users have to enable the feature. There is a negligible performance decrease in a number of views when enabling this setting. As JS7 users tend to be demanding when it comes to performance, display of Order Tags by default is disabled.
Using Order Tags as Filters
In a number of views tags can be used to filter display of workflows and orders:
- Workflows view
- Orders Overview
- Daily Plan view
- History view
The views offer to select Order Tags from the left panel. When selecting Order Tags then workflows only will be displayed that are assigned orders holding the given tags. Consider to adjust the Order Filter as by default today's orders only are displayed:
Explanations:
- The left panel allows to select individual Order Tags or all Order Tags available. Selected order tags will be made available from other views too.
- Display is limited to workflows being assigned orders holding one or more of the selected Order Tags. This means that any orders assigned the workflow will be displayed as long as one or more orders carry the related Order Tags.
- The Filter display of Order Tags checkbox further limits display to orders only that are assigned one or more of the selected Order Tags.
