Amazon AWS® CloudWatch is a service of Amazon Web Services that monitors applications and resources operated in the AWS® infrastructure in real time. 

JS7 can be integrated with CloudWatch to make log output of Controller, Agents and JOC Cockpit available from a single dashboard.

• Answer: The major functionality is to offer a central point of log analysis and to enable alarms for errors and warnings available from JS7 log files.

• Question: What are CloudWatch capabilities to view logs?
• Answer: The main advantage of using CloudWatch is that the user can access the entire infrastructure and all log data from a single dashboard.

• Question: Does CloudWatch provide better search capabilities? What’s the usefulness of searching in logs?
• Answer: CloudWatch allows to search in JS7 logs. It can raise alerts and notify users triggered by error messages and warnings identified from log files.

• Question: How does CloudWatch integrate with JS7 log rotation? We find JS7 log files being compressed after each day.
• Answer: CloudWatch integrates compressed log files in real-time. Log output is seamlessly available independently from JS7 log rotation.

• Question: What about the many different JOC Cockpit log files? Can CloudWatch correlate a number of log files for example based on the same timestamps? 
• Answer: Yes, multiple log files can be integrated and correlated with CloudWatch. For example, the joc.log file can contain an error message for a given point in time to which we find more details from the service-cluster.log file.
